Sweet & Savory Waffles

Sweet & Savory Waffles
Servings: 2What you’ll need:
2 al fresco Sweet Apple Chicken Sausages, diced1 ½ cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon dried sage
1 large egg
1 1/2 cups milk
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 apples, sliced
Maple syrup for serving
Directions:
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and sage in a medium mixing bowl, whisk until incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, combine egg, milk, and vegetable oil. Slowly pour wet ingredients into dry until just incorporated, do not overmix.
- Spray waffle maker with non-stick spray, pour batter and scatter cut up chicken sausage over the batter. Cook until golden brown.
- Serve with apple slices and pure maple syrup as desired.
