Oven Baked Italian Hoagies

"This easy one pan dinner requires simple prep work, easy clean up and brings big flavor. Oven baked hoagies with herby sweet Italian style chicken sausage, smoked provolone and bell peppers will be your new favorite sandwich!"

Oven Baked Italian Hoagies

Servings: 4
What you’ll need:

1 package al fresco Sweet Italian Style Chicken Sausage

1/2 yellow onion, diced

1 small red bell pepper, sliced

1 small yellow bell pepper, sliced

1 small green bell pepper, sliced

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp pepper

4 slices smoked provolone cheese

1/2 cup red pasta sauce of your choice

2 tbsp olive oil

4 hoagie rolls

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Lightly spray large baking sheet with non-stick spray. Place chicken sausage, peppers and onion on baking sheet. Sprinkle pepper and onions with salt and pepper.
  • Bake for 15 minutes. Meanwhile, lightly brush inside of hoagie rolls with olive oil.
  • Remove tray from oven. Flip chicken sausage. Then place hoagie rolls open and facedown on top of peppers and onions to crisp. Return to oven and bake for an additional 7-10 minutes.
  • Assemble hoagies by placing chicken sausage inside of each hoagie rolls. Then add slice of cheese, red sauce, peppers and onion. Return to oven for 2 minutes or until cheese is melted. Serve warm and enjoy!
